But I agree that it would be weird to include two overlapping polls in the same average.

7. The 47-47 number is not a proper Gallup Tracking number

They still have it on RCP.

It was merely what some of the tracking was in the aftermath of the Romney debate bump.

They need to replace it with today's 50-45 number.

10. And no matter how much Mitt lies, he cannot beat the President in likeability

and that will be why the President will win.

no one likes a proven liar with a record of being a bully.

President Obama has proven himself to be a compassionate, honest, hard working
family man who the entire country can relate to and use as role model.

Romney is the very opposite.

Fact is, you CANNOT win an election if the majority of your voters are excited to vote AGAINST the other guy rather than FOR you.

As someone who reads more than they post, this place can be as exhausting as it is informative. I thought the "woe is me" crap had subsided over the weekend, after the jobs numbers, but it seems as though some have started it back up after Pew and PPP polls, taken at the height of "Romney's debate performance prior to his flat out lies not yet taking hold" bounce. The debate seems a bit of a distant memory now, and now being factored back into the polling is unemployment falling, consumer confidence picking up, Romney's lies, countries Romney wants to bomb, and Big Bird. Yet because of Chuck Toad, Morning Blow, and others republican media toads harping on Romney's poll numbers that back the "We finally have our true horserace!" narrative they were so eager to run with for months, it seems as though half this place is in mourning. We've still got the ground game and a candidate we're excited to vote for. If we go into the last week with a tie or slight lead, we win it on the ground, I truly believe that. Everyone just needs to stay motivated, stay energized, don't get discouraged, and don't be so damn reactionary to every little thing. For better and for worse, there's still a LOOOOONG way to go in this race.

13. The President is ahead in the great majority of the swing states and none of the blue states

are remotely close to being threatened. people with their hair on fire over one or two outlier polls
are probably not even democrats at all. they are playing a game and i say ignore them.
dont' comment on their posts to give them more publicity.

14. Yes, but the President retained a small lead. (on edit - never mind)

The leaked word was that the switch to LV would "wipe out" the president's lead.

But the latest number leaves a 2-point gap.

On edit - My error. It's a 2-point Romney lead. 49-47. The president retains a 3-point lead among RV.

Apologies.
