Related: About this forumSpike Lee: I'll vote for Bernie
Guess he trusts him on national security. Obviously the Guardian was referring to the primary.
Spike Lee will vote for Bernie Sanders in the upcoming US presidential election partly, he says, because he fears what Republican frontrunner Donald Trump would do if he had access to the nuclear football.
When asked who he would be voting for in Novembers election, the director, speaking at the Berlin film festival press conference for his new film, Chi-Raq, recalled a fundraiser he once threw for Bill Clinton. Accompanying the president at the time was an aide with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. Lee believed that this was the nuclear football, which allows the US president to authorise a nuclear attack while away from the White House.
I always thought it was a myth. It scared the shit out of me, Lee said. Can you imagine Donald Trump having that power? Press some numbers into that and were all out of here. Youre fired
for real!

(6,829 posts)For their HRC support.
If there's black VIPs publicly questioning that sentiment, it could break her firewall.
Obama's victory in the early primaries convinced a lot of AA's to switch from their early support of HRC in 2008

(1,508 posts)want to support the best candidate. I truly hope the public scrutinizes all of the candidates and choose the better one. I know that most minorities will be voting for one of the democratic candidates, so I truly hope they vote for the one that will continue to support and work on the issues that are most detrimental to us, the minorities of this nation, and that means the 99% of us who are not wealthy enough to buy favors or play ball with those that are beginning to control more and more of the wealth of this planet.
