Maybe Obama should endorse Bernie. He could use Bernie as a threat to the GOP that

they better accept his nomination or Bernie will be the next one making recommendations. I think Bernie would approve of this tactic. I would.

They hate Hillary with the passion of a thousand suns, and would not want her to nominate Supreme Court justices either. So perhaps the possibility of either Hillary or Bernie being in a position to do so (heck, perhaps even the possibility of their own likely nominee, Donald Trump, being in that position) might scare them enough to let Obama appoint someone.

On the other hand, they hate Obama just as much.
