Race tightening, but Obama's still in the leadBy Paul West, LA Times

Romney's strong showing in the first debate could help him accomplish what even his own campaign advisors said he had failed to do earlier: close the sale with voters who don't want to give Obama another term. But with relatively few voters truly undecided, Romney also has to convert soft Obama supporters, a much tougher task.
"Go out and knock on doors and get people who voted for President Obama to see the light and come join our team," he urged a conservative gathering in Denver on Thursday.
At the very least, the debate has squelched talk about Republican campaign money shifting to more winnable House and Senate contests.
"If Romney needs anything, he needs more time," said Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Republican Party in Iowa, where Romney plans to campaign Tuesday. "He's behind and he needs to catch up."

(7,675 posts)2. I think he fired all his ammo at Wednesday's debate. If Biden finesses Ryan in the VP debate,
(finesse is probably the wrong word) Romney is going to face Obama again but without the element of surprise. Barack strikes me as someone that does not like losing.

(5,810 posts)5. Personally, I would like to see Biden kick that little snot---
right in the ass a few times. Then kick him in the crotch.....hard! I want to see Paul Ryan bent over in pain with a grimace on his face from the beating he is taking from Joe.
I am counting on Joe to do to Paul what Obama didn't do to Romney. Then when Obama's turn comes up again to take Romney out, he will know exactly what to do and when. Both Romney and Ryan need a lesson they won't forget. Ryan is far too cocky and needs a comeuppance. Come to think of it, Romney needs to be taken down a peg or two, as well.
My sister used to say, "Kick 'em until their nose bleeds." That sounds about right to me.
