(30,099 posts)We have this new network through our satellite provider and
I caught this very old show called Merv Griffin..a few weeks ago.
This was way before my time and it essentially was an
entertainment show? The show they ran had Harry Belafonte
and MLK on, it was dated 1967. It was amazing to watch
for a number of reasons. The host gave Belafonte a good
deal of time to talk about his life's work as an activist and
then they introduced MLK...Griffin asked him so many great
questions and as you can imagine this genius of a man
spoke at length on so many topics including the VietNam
war..the whole conversation blew me away.
The contrast of what our news media is like now compared to
what was an entertainment show was stark...our msm is beyond
pitiful. This interview included thoughtful questions from
the audience too... made all those "news" analysis shows we
have today by corporate media look ridiculous.
After watching that is why I am not surprised Belafonte
endorsed Bernie, not at all surprised. Some will think about
it, some won't...we'll see.
