Why the debate was bad: He gave THEM our hope (& change).

The right is feeling very much better today, re-energized, donating, animated, talkative, HAPPY. It hardly matters how much he lied. They have a WIN and that's all they want, now and forever, however they can get it. And they're going to be crowing about it for weeks. There may even be no spontaneous collapse now(!). No one on the left wanted THIS. That's why I know this was not strategy.

Maybe it will mean nothing in the polls and on election day. Maybe the president will knock his block off next time and even things back up. But you give people hope and that's can be a dangerous thing. He gave them OUR hope & now changed them into happy, energized people. They were fairly demoralized before and now they're going to fight like the dickens.

I'm going to console myself now by filling out my absentee ballot for Obama :p
