As I feared earlier today, Romney performed better than Democrats thought he would

I wrote a thread earlier this morning with links to video clips from Romney's debates with Ted Kennedy and others and said I hoped Obama & his team studied them.

Romney is a pathological liar and will constantly change his positions and take new positions during a debate ("He's multiple choice" as Ted Kennedy said).

Obama seemed off his game, particularly in the first 30 minutes. Romney won that first half. Obama did much better in the 2nd half, but the media consensus tonight is definitely that Romney won this debate.

I was also surprised that Obama did not:

1) Point out all of Romney's foreign investments and involvement with China when Romney tried to claim how much he believed in investing in America

2) Didn't point out the contrast between what Romney was saying on stage and what he said about Americans behind closed doors in the 47% tape

Romney was spewing such bullshit, I couldn't keep up with it. On aggression, yes, Romney won. But, on substance and patience, Obama definitely won.

What is it with everybody that thinks that interrupting your opponent and talking over the moderator constitutes a win? Romney is so full of shit.

He's had months of evidence that Romney is pathological liar, and yet he looked surprised at the fact that Romney lies.

I think their strategy was just to play it safe. Now whether or not that was the right thing to do is yet to be seen.
