That's part of the lyrics from "America". It's not a feel-good "Sunrise in America" song at all, but rather captures the reasons some of us support Bernie. We've lost America, and we hope to find it again with Bernie.

And you don't hope for better unless you're already living worse. People who are happy and content are just fine continuing to live exactly as they are. Contentment brings conservatism, discontent breeds hope for something better, for progress towards a better world.
