The AARP is mailing flyer's in Florida about What Romney/ Ryan will do to

Medicare and Medicaid and advising seniors to vote Obama. This is great as I cannot understand why so many Florida seniors support Mitt. I think they just listen to the hype and are swayed.

2. They are an insurance company. They stand to make money off of the ACA and giving seniors

a $6,000 voucher will hurt them since it will cut into their Medicare advantage plans.

They supported the repubs part D drug plan and donut hole.

3. They are not an insurance company. They bring in revenue by having insurance

Companies advertise

They are a lobbying group for seniors

Their position on social security and Medicare is not to privatize it or dismantle it

Romney wants to dismantle it, and thus the endorsement for Obama

Now they have their own insurance program and skin in the game.

Sorry, I don't trust them.

17. So, they've come out completely for the ACA and you don't trust them?

You think they're for the ACA and then they'll suddenly be against it? Or maybe they're hiding something secret about the ACA?

Seniors are taking their word that the ACA is good for them and Lyin's plan will destroy their lives. It's the truth. That works for me.

Sounds like you've got a dilemma, though.

It isn't that black and white.

Do I prefer the ACA over Vulture/Voucher's alternative? Of course.

Do I really like the ACA? No, there should be at the least a public option. Did the AARP push for a public option? No, they did not.

Do I entirely trust the AARP on every issue? No. I haven't since they pushed for the unfunded-Medicare Part D, with the donut hole and all the handouts to big Pharma.

In both of those last two instances, can you see where a group that offers Medi-Gap insurance could benefit?

Maybe you spoke too soon? Or perhaps you weren't really familiar with the subject in the first place?

They spewing all kinds of disinformation out there about AARP because they supported ACA.

It is amazing how Republicans will turn on anyone that shows any support to this President.

5. AARP leadership was Right Wing

Then their membership woke up. The membership started putting pressure on the leadership about what policy positions AARP needed to take. Leadership started listening to membership since the leadership was afraid of members cancelling their membership. AARP now supports keeping Medicare as is and no cuts to Social Security.

i just routinely trash everything they send me - and they've been doing it for 7 years! maybe i'll take a look. i don't know. i wouldn't even join the PTA while my kids were growing up because they took positions i disagreed with on a national level. i supported my children's schools' PTA functions but refused to join the organization.

They don't need to endorse Obama to say Willard/Zombie-Eyed Granny-Starver intend to starve grannys. They're cutting through the hype and putting it in words seniors understand.

This was text from an AARP email ... oh, and the buttons were extra large and in color ... blue and red ... for us seniors ... LOL

"Are you paying attention? I sure hope so, because this year, your vote could decide the future of Medicare and Social Security.
In just a few weeks, President Obama and Governor Romney will meet to debate for the first time, and your benefits should be a major topic. The candidates need to know that we're looking for straight talk – and that the future of Medicare and Social Security matters to us when we head to the polls.
Let's show that we're serious – help us send 50,000 messages before the debate on October 3rd. Use one of the buttons below to automatically send a message to Pres. Obama, Gov. Romney, or both candidates – it just takes one click:"

They are increasing the pressure...I have not seen an email advising who to vote for but don't live in Florida but the messages are coming more and more often.

And even though they do not endorse a candidate, I was getting a strong feeling they were subliminally endorsing Obama. Although I know I am biased, I made a point to try and listen as an unbiased party and I still interpreted it that way.
