Christie: "Mitt Romney had a bad week"

Mitt Romney 'had a bad week,' Gov. Christie says in wake of 'victims' comments

LONG BRANCH — Gov. Chris Christie today downplayed Mitt Romney’s comments about 47 percent of Americans who “believe they are victims,” and blamed the media for what he called an unfair focus on the remarks.

“He had a bad week,” Christie said at a news conference at a school groundbreaking. “The guy’s been campaigning for president for six years, he had a bad week, OK. I mean, I think all of us sitting around, we’ve had bad weeks. Do we want our entire life judged on one bad week? I don’t think so.”

With one week to go before Romney debates President Barack Obama, Christie pointed to Ronald Reagan’s 1980 debate performance that turned the tide against then-President Jimmy Carter.

How about the whole campaign has been bad!

Way to go, Christie...
