Thom went off on this on the show today. This is important to know about

http://www.thomhartmann.com/blog/2016/01/most-disingenuous-attack-bernie-yet
If you watched Sundays Democratic debate, you learned something interesting about Bernie Sanders: he voted for the Commodities Futures Modernization Act, something Hillary Clinton was all too eager to point out when the two of them got to talking about Wall Street reform.
Sounds pretty bad, right?
The guy who goes on and on about how bad Wall Street is actually voted for the bill that crashed economy.
So much for all that political revolution stuff
But heres the thing: Hillary Clinton isnt telling a true story about Bernie Sanders and his vote for the Commodity Futures Modernization Act, or CFMA.
As Robert Scheer has pointed over at TruthDig, then-Congressman Sanders voted for the CFMA not because he wanted to, but because he had to.

(10,122 posts)But she's been deceiving her entire career. She didn't score high in the untrustworthy polls for nothing!!
This one is particularly ugly because she kicked Bernie in the nuts for helping her husband keep the government open. That's stooping pretty low to score political points.

She's only about half right.

(13,390 posts)I find it baffling that she has been a part of these primaries as wife of candidate, first lady, and presidential candidate a total of 4 times altogether and has still not figured out how engaged, deliberate, and thoughtful the early primary state voters are?
I wonder if she might see herself as so superior and entitled that the voters only really matter if they help her achieve her goal.

(2,510 posts)Hillary attacks Bernie for voting for a bill
which was slipped into an omnibus package
at the last minute,
for which 99% of the House members voted,
which was authored by a current member of her campaign,
and was signed into law BY HER OWN HUSBAND!!!
I have seen the startling hypocrisy of many members of the Republican party,
but I NEVER expected to see a member of my Democratic party
SINK to THESE depths!
I have never seen such a level of unmitigated gall, such blatant hypocrisy,
except that coming from members of the Republican party..
This is absolutely STUNNING.
My disdain for Hillary has never reached the levels of some of my compatriots who also back Sanders. I have not truly 'hated' her-- I have only found her record unsatisfactory to me as a progressive, and I think her a poor choice for general election electability. BUT--
THIS thing, combined with the current Red-baiting of her campaign--
they are pushing me...
If you haven't actually read the story, you should go READ it.

(2,510 posts)she could get away with it, and not be called on it.
An attack based on Bernie's vote for a bill which was
signed into law by her own husband?
I'm still shaking my head over it.

(18,115 posts)They are in the same nasty league.

(47,803 posts)Sanders, like the rest of Congress, was blackmailed into voting for the bill because it was tucked into omnibus legislation needed to keep the government operating. Only libertarian Ron Paul and three other House members had the guts to cast a nay vote. The measure freeing Wall Street firms from regulation was inserted at the last moment in a deal between President Clinton and Senate Banking Committee Chairman Phil Gramm, R-Texas, who had failed in an earlier attempt to get the measure enacted. Clinton signed it into law a month before leaving office.

(3,111 posts)I mean, really, childish hiding of posts or reality you simply don't want to admit to or see?
I think it's a little pathological that we have to closet ourselves away in groups that ban people for life and then still get their message out sometimes as latest and greatest threads.
I think there should be a time limit on bans and that group postings that are not open to everyone should also be not eligible for latest or greatest.

The real problems in this country come from politicians who are tied to this shit: http://www.muckety.com/John-D-Podesta/8565.muckety
That is what Hillary Clinton is about. She is no better than Koch funded candidates. Oh right, they funded the DLC.
I don't care 2 shits about what Hillary and her wealthy cronies want. I care about my family and community. Something Hillary knows nothing about.

(15,435 posts)Actually said everything the article reported. His first guests were just as negative about Hillary regarding the ad run from the MO. Senator CM. One person said, at least Bernie tells you up front what he thinks even if he/they say he's a Communist, SHE is getting $$$ from the back door (behind her) and what comes out the front (her mouth) may actually make her look like a dictator.
Someone said that it seems the Clinton's will do anything to become POTUS even it means RUINING then Democratic Party.
The guest who was talking about this issue explained it very clearly, and in not so many words said she was a liar and using THIS vote knowing full well WHY he was forced to vote for it. And then he opposed Gentler who is now the CFO of her campaign.
Almost everyone on his show tonight were pretty much talking about how very UNETHICAL and UNDERHANDED the campaign is conducting itself and most said it will back fire on her. Said she underestimating how much this will make Bernie supporters to dig in their heels over this and so much more. Especially the voters new to politics like millennials, but said he has been getting more and more voters from all sectors.
If anyone listens to alternative TV you WILL get the REAL and theREST of the story!
I'm Feelin' The Bern in more ways than one... FUMES coming out of my head! I'm so disgusted with what this DEMOCRATIC PARTY is bound and determined to do when it wants to basically try to RUIN a good man's name! BERNIE SANDERS!
Ok, need to stop before I completely EXPLODE!

(32,886 posts)Through a Republican House had to make a pragmatic vote that included something bad in it?
Why didn't he mobilize the people to get that provision removed from the omnibus spending deal?
He's got a national platform now. Why isn't he forcing the Republican congress to do all kinds of things.
The answer is he can't. And that's not pessimism or any other dumb term folks have tried to use against people like me pointing out the obvious. Bernie is running in a platform he knows he can't possibly enact.
Tom Hartmann, I know you read this stuff. What's your answer?

(32,886 posts)about attacks on Bernie. You guys attack everyone. You attack Hillary, you attack her supporters, you attack anyone who is even slightly critical of Bernie, you even attack Black Lives Matter.
And you invent things in posts to attack people. I didnt mention Hillary once in my post.

(32,886 posts)There is no need to play squirrel or anything else with you guys. Your attacks are all over this forum. Someone in the media criticizes Bernie, there are quickly several 100+ post attack OPs on them. Someone says something nice about Hillary completely not involving Bernie at all, there are quickly dozens of snide comments in response.
Black Lives Matter has one person protest Bernie, Oh my god, quelle horreur! They are a Hillary Soros shill organization created to attack Bernie!!!!11!!11111!!!!elevens!!! Until another random BLM person endorses Bernie and then they are wonderful!!!!
You guys are relentlessly negative and rude, 24x7, and then you complain when you get just a small percentage of it directed back at you. i.e. Projecting

(17,505 posts)Please present your proof that Sanders' supporters don't "lift a finger" in congressional elections. I don't believe Sanders was running for president during any congressional elections, so how can he have supporters that.... oh never mind...
It's these silly statements along with ridiculous stuff like "she's the most qualified candidate to ever run anywhere in the history of the universe!", along with all the "Why do you hate her, you meanie!" that confirms the fanboy immaturity of Hillary worshipers.
Afraid to talk about her real record. Afraid to hear any criticism. Afraid to even try to make things in this country better.
