but despite being " haifu" half Japanese ..I would still be considered a Gaijin the moment I opened my mouth. I know someone who has lived 40 YEARS in Japan and is still and will always be considered an outsider. In the United States Immigrants become citizens and will always be American... but in Japan there are native born Japanese and outsiders.... and both are treated differently.

High school, Colleges, ANY kind of teacher... is referred to as "Sensei ".
石川先生が弓の使い方を教えてくれました。 ( As an example: "Sensei Ishikawa taught me how to use the bow" )
