all the shops and restaurants are closed and its just tourists walking the streets... not a resident in sight.

lots of tourists, get me out of hear. I think that happens in a lot of cities where there are street parades or festivals; the local residents go on vacation.

The parade is held well after, but on New Years, all the Chinese stay home and cook.

I mean the one that was internally illuminated with the red light. I've never seen such a beautiful New Year's dragon before!

Yui, you should take some video next year and post it here. I'd love that.
