# Bereavement

Related: About this forum# I just found out my Daddy passed away at 2300.

I was asked to write his obituary. I hope I can do him justice. Thankfully, he didn’t suffer many days and if anyone deserves to be in heaven, he does. Of, course I have been fighting tears every day since he became so sick as I am now. Thankfully he was only in Hospice Care for nine days. But now he's gone. As inevitable as death is there will never be anything that prepares you for that day.

Thank you everyone for the loving support you offered me on my End of Life Issues (Group) post. You comforted me and I will never forget it.

I hope you handle it better than I did.

(10,147 posts)My dad passed away eight years ago this month, and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him and miss him like crazy.

I truly feel for you. Hold on to the love you shared. It will get you through this. The one wonderful thing I learned through death is that the love never dies. It is always with us.

(58,892 posts)Please be gentle with yourself. There is no timeline for grief resolution & the stages of grief is not a linear process.

It is hard work, physically as well as emotionally & psychologically.

Please feel free to pm if you wish to chat.

(29,491 posts)After the most intense grieving passed, it feels like he accompanies me now, since he’s always present in my heart. I hope you find comfort soon ... but for now, the depth of grief honors your love for him.

Wishing that you somehow find moments of peace in the process.
