At the Encyclopedia of Loons is an article about a guy who has been pushing "facilitated communication," even though under proper scientific scrutiny it falls apart, completely.

And some of these "facilitators" have destroyed families with fake accusations.

And sadly, taxpayers fund these sort of "therapies" and interventions all over the country without even knowing it. Much of it has to do with poorly informed public service administrators, many of whom have their own agendas and don't give a rat's ass about science.
