An actor walked in and saw him reading a Bible and ask what he was doing as he was an atheist. He replied “Looking for loop holes”.

Reiner has stated that his childhood home was not observantly Jewish, although he did have a bar mitzvah ceremony; Reiner's father Carl acknowledged that he himself had become an atheist as the Holocaust progressed. Rob identified himself as having no religious affiliation on the January 13, 2012, episode of Real Time with Bill Maher and as an atheist. Reiner later told Huffington Post contributor Debra Oliver that while he rejected organized religion, he was sympathetic to the ideas of Buddhism.

My point is that writers, directors, and star actors are still much more likely to be male than female.

Do I think there are fewer women than men who are atheist, agnostic, or non-religious? No. Maybe part of the skew is that it wasn't worth the author's time to learn about women's beliefs.
