Save on antacid. Stop watching the coverage of Notre Dame.

If, like me, you feel terrible about the fire at Notre Dame, empathize with those who feel its loss, and are currently in a good place in regard to it, then I suggest you just stop watching the coverage of it now.

The networks are already digging up priests and ministers and theologians with logically skewed responses that will make you want to rip your hair out. "Faith is carried in the heart. The church is just an expression of that faith." Well okay, why did generations have to tithe and break their backs to build the F-ing thing then? If it didn't matter, why spend a billion to rebuild it? Spend the money on the poor, pass out some VR goggles to pilgrims who show up at Notre Dame's scorched door, and call it religion. Move on.

Jesus probably would agree.

AAARGH!!!

1. Yeah and never ever point that out.

You'll be attacked as an evil heartless religious bigot if you ask questions like, "would the world be better off if the church had spent its money on helping people rather than constructing ornate, lavish, ultra-expensive buildings and gold-plated everything?"

2. I haven't turned on the TV. Is that all they are covering? I imagine it would be...

That seems to be the mindset of cable news. Jump on the big shiny object and ignore all the rest. I mean how much detail do you need about a building that has burned down?

someone expressing how I feel about the whole thing...
So much I could say but no one would listen.

5. My Cathedral

Not much in comparison. Still, I would be sad to see it burn down. Everytime I revisit the old homestead I like to walk by and shake my fist at it like that old man.

6. If I'm taking that right, I agree. LOL

Sometimes LOL seems much. We need GTS -- Grinning-To-Self.
