A quote about hurricane Isaac

Isaac is the son of Abraham," said Margaret Thomas, who was trapped for a week in her home in New Orleans' Broadmoor neighborhood by Katrina's floodwaters, yet chose to stay put this time. "It's a special name. That means God will protect us."

This might be the most STUPID thing I've ever read and I've come upon some doozies.

Who are we to tell her she's wrong?

Seriously though, that is exactly what us mean nasty atheists are told when we question beliefs. It's so funny how the po-mo'ers who parrot that party line always scurry away when a real world example like this comes. Should this woman be forcibly evacuated? What if Isaac was just as strong as Katrina? Then is it OK to tell someone their beliefs are wrong?

Or do we let her drown instead of telling her she's mistaken?

And I have to wonder if she will waver in her belief that just because a hurricane is named "Isaac"---or "Jesus" for that matter---she will be protected.

On a separate note, I may well have chose to stay for this one too. It was only a Category 1, and although that is still scary, it is not a big deal---usually. Except when it stalls when it hits land and just churns rain into the area forever.

like throwing a hurricane at someone. She sounds like a victim of domestic violence.
