(3,088 posts)I can confirm the original hypothesis. My own personal head added twenty paces to the range of my (Toyota) key fob. I suspect the good professor has more gray matter than I, but I've probably got more water....

I was very skeptical. I don't know enough about physics to know if his explanation is true. But I trust the DUers in this thread who say they've done this. Pretty cool.

(11,084 posts)Some youtube clips suggest permanently soldering a wire onto the tiny antenna in the key fob to extend the range. Putting it against your head saves effort and doesn't require a soldering iron.
