On Saturday, the President betrayed the Jews.

Some 500 white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, VA. They chanted, “The Jewish media is going down!” and hurled the n-word at counter-protestors. Violence broke out. A car plowed into a group of peaceful counter-protesters walking away from the rally, killing one of them.

After waiting far too long, President Donald Trump made a statement. He condemned violence “on many sides.” If it wasn’t clear that he was apportioning blame equally between the people who marched in support of slavery and killing Jews and those who opposed them, he repeated that phrase, “on many sides.”

And that was the moment Donald Trump betrayed the Jews.

Would it have been so hard to say racism and anti-Semitism have no place in the United States of America? The marchers, out to protest the removal of a stature of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, alternated chants of, “You will not replace us!” with “Jews will not replace us!” But Trump– the father and grandfather and father-in-law of Jews– refused to blame them. Refused to hold them accountable. Refused to threaten them with anywhere near the fire and fury he uses to lash out at Sen. Mitch McConnell or CNN or the New York Times.

Do expect more people to remind us of the Jews in this administration and about his daughter and grandchildren, as if that "excuses" this breech.

1. He is SUPPOSED

to represent ALL of us, just as President Obama and others before him did. He represents HIMSELF, and not very well. Did the Jewish people expect something different from him? As far as I know, President Obama does not have any Jewish relatives, yet he treated the Jewish people with respect, consideration and honor. You know, like a REAL president treats all citizens.

2. This is not the 1st time he has not spoken up about anti-Semitic behavior.

I have been very surprised by the support he has from so many Jewish people. He has been silent before, not condemning anti-Semitic behavior. I believe he is thankful so many White Supremacists and anti-Semites are out there supporting him-they are his base and he will not do or say anything to upset them. By not condemning this behavior he is condoning it.

5. This is morte of an issue with Trump because of his family

Jared and Ivanka are both Jewish
Ivanka is clearly his favorite child and truth be told, I'm guessing he likes Jared more than Don Jr and Eric.

While Jared is smart, trustworthy, competent, etc. Hell, Sr. kicked Christie to the curb probably because Jared hates him
Ivanka is the extension of him. It's not unreasonable to think he might do something because of them

7. Jews are Americans.

The recent "rally" was a direct attack on Jews and therefore, we expected the "president" to represent us by speaking out against hate directed against us. He did not!

You understand the article is from a JEWISH magazine and posted in the JEWISH group, right? Therefore, the focus is on Jewish people and hate against us, anti-Semitism, not being addressed...AGAIN!

So, no, we don't expect anything different from him, but we expect to be treated as the Americans we are by him and by others who like to avoid discussions of anti-Semitism and those who like to dismiss the concerns of Jewish people!

Every time I see Kushner's rich-boy smirk where he acts like he's in on the joke, I have to wonder if he realizes that if he were not the son-in-law married to favored daughter/wife Ivanka*, and if it were up to the terrible trio, Bannon*, Gorka* and Miller*, Jared would be on the next boxcar to Amerikan Auschwitz.

4. The gloves have to come off

There's no euphemism for Nazi, and Trump is a Nazi, And when his supporters say that calling him a Nazi is over the top, point to how he responded to the Nazi rally and torch light parade in Charlottesville, VA .
Any Jewish male who continues to support the Nazi Trump should have foreskin restoration.
