THIS IS THE JEWISH GROUP!A United Nations agency in a preliminary vote has passed a controversial resolution that denies a Jewish connection to the Old City of Jerusalem.
UNESCO the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at its executive boards meeting Thursday in Paris passed the Palestinian-backed measure with 24 votes in favor and 6 against, with 26 countries abstaining.
The United States, the United Kingdom and Germany were among those that voted against the resolution. They were joined by Lithuania, the Netherlands and Estonia. Other European countries abstained.
A final vote reportedly will be taken early next week.
Israels permanent delegate to UNESCO, Carmel Shama Hacohen, said of the vote, according to Ynet: Israel and the Jewish people dont require UNESCOs or any other countrys confirmation of the special connection between the Jewish people and the State of Israel and Jerusalem in general and the holy sites therein like the Western Wall and the Temple Mount in particular.

Once again, anti-Semitism takes center stage and it gathers a collective "yawn". The 26 countries "abstaining" are fucking cowards!

(3,013 posts)1. The list of countries abstaining made me sick.
Total cowards. And why? Is it simple antisemitism? Why are they so cowardly?
question everything
(47,468 posts)2. Notihing about a vote by the UN or an agency surpises me
(except the one from November 1947).
After all, an agency about human rights include (or included) countries like Uganda and Syria and other "guardians" of human rights.
