The poster s/he's responding to had some awful comments as well, but I got called to jury THIS one. I can't give it a pass just because of what the other guy did.

Explanation: My vote is entirely because of forum location. This belongs in I/P. However, both opinions stated are ones that we -- Jews and Democrats both, together and separately -- need to explore. It's not a question we are going to answer in sound bites or with our guts or emotions. Both Torah and Talmud teach us that wisdom derives from doubt, discussion and depth, not in proof-texting.

Explanation: WTF? Alerter, is it beyond your comprehension that a Jew might express the opinion that catnhatnh has given in this thread? Or are you saying that the only Jewish people allowed to join up with the Jewish Group are those who post threads with memes such as the original one made by LTX, which catnhatnh responded to. Either way, there is no way for me to tell if, in fact, catnhatnh needs to be expelled from DU's Jewish Group and I find nothing wrong with catnhatnh's reply to LTX. Leave it.

While this group is still bound by DU rules, it is indeed a space where Jewish posters, and those "allied" with us can speak openly about Jewish issues, which includes anti-Semitism.

I invite others to speak out, if willing, about their encounters with anti-Semitism. If you see it here, alert on it, but be very clear and as concise as possible. Do not assume the jury will even understand what anti-Semitism is. Also, if you alert or sit on a jury and you notice anti-Semitism, you can alert on the jury using the button in the bottom left-handed corner.

If you alert on a jury's results, it sends the message directly to the admins. They get every alert as is, so if you alert, you need to point out the problem instead of making them look for it or guess.

Shit like the above needs to be sent to the admins. A juror who makes comments like that shouldn't be allowed to serve on juries. I wonder if s/he knows Sharon is STILL dead?!

I have alerted on a few because I am almost certain the jury misreported my finding (a glitch). There have been a few where the personal attacks in the jury comment section was worse than the post on which the alert was sent.

And, no, another jury is not empaneled, nor a decision overturned. However, supposedly, jurors have been removed from the jury pool, and I know of at least one juror who was banned.

If, you need to alert in this group, make sure to include that in your alert. Group have different standards than the forums, so many jurors will correctly take it into account. Something that might survive in a forum, may not in a group.
