Who would be giving all Jewish People a bad name is gone.

Cantor struck me as a phony rich snob. A stereotypical greedy fatcat.

I admit I'm deprived of having Jewish friends. I've only known a couple one practicing, one not. I drag my sorry behind in here to seek more contact and interaction.

Eric may have been intelligent. He certainly was not a thinking man or an intellectual. How could he be and embrace conservative ideology? He had to have compromised his core values, beliefs, and principles to be played like a marionette by the Koch brothers.

The purge is complete. It could change in November if another Jew is voted into office, and I have no clue if any Jewish Republicans are running. Some better be crossing those fingers because how else will they be able to accuse a non-Jew of being more loyal to Israel and claiming he really works for the Israeli PM or applauding such statements?!

I have read some information about Cantor's opponent and there are so many "buzzwords" there it is eyebrow-lifting to be sure. Cantor is a "socialist?!" Uh-huh.

As I have only seen a few of Brat's supporters with "socialist" signs, and haven't seen too many more pictures, I can't say for certain. What I do know is it would be a stealth campaign, they, like the left, don't just come out and say "Jew," they use their various code words. What raised a flag with me is some Brat's economic comments, and now his Hitler reference. IMO, the ones who talk the most about the Holocaust aren't actually the Jews, but those who hate us, though they usually refer to the big man. Brat also did a "paper" about "usury" which is another click word. Let's see how fast he and those like him drop "Judeo-Christian" and just start with "Christian."

The only up side I can see is maybe, just maybe, they have become so extreme, that the GOP will split and/or Republican Jews will finally jump ship.

So, no I don't think so off the bat. If they were anti-Semitic, they'd have gotten rid of Cantor a long time ago.

All the post-action local polling says it was (in this order):

(1) Cantor viewed as pro-amnesty;
(2) Cantor viewed as big government; and
(3) Cantor viewed as Washington insider.

Most polled could not identify either man's religion.

Basic retail Republican politics, in other words.

I wouldn't read much into it, other than there is a lot of anti-incumbent sentiment that can be tapped into.

The number of times he was elected is irrelevant. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but there has been an upswing in anti-Semitic rhetoric and code words. The far-right is not philo-Semitic as some like to claim, they are simply "pro"Israel in order to fulfill their death fantasies.

I suggest you read some of the comments coming in from Brat's campaign. Given your background, you will start to see the specter of pre-WWII Eastern Europe in some of the "charges" against Cantor.

I am sorry, but looking under rocks for anti-Semites when there are Arabs chasing French Jewish people with axes is silly.

In the USA, the primary groups harboring any material number of anti-Semites are foreign-born Hispanics, blacks, and various Muslim immigrants:

Cantor lost because Republicans hate immigrants and Cantor was reasonable on immigration.

Don't go crying wolf on this; I agree with you that bad times are coming (and Brat is a radical), but I don't need to go look for anti-Semitism when there is plenty staring me in the face.

In his winning speech he mentioned "god" several times; I don't remember, though whether he mentioned Jesus.

Even Jon Stewart took on this.

It is also quite rude to even imply I am claiming it. Your opinion sounds like the Rabbi's who's article I posted the other day. Just because you doesn't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. All I am saying is if you think anti-Semitism is limited to ax-wielding psychos or someone screaming "kike", then you are going to miss quite a bit of anti-Semitism.
