sexually abusing their constituents, it's a step in the right direction.

A baby step.

especially the Southern Baptist Convention, or Boy Scouts, Band directors, coaches and teachers for that matter. Not to paint all those with a broad brush, but those are some of the places you can find child abusers.

of abusers. There is an argument to be made that religious denominations that foster sexual repression will also bolster levels of abuse, especially by excusing it and/or covering it up. I'm open to arguments and evidence to the contrary.

Several years ago there was a double page photo expose in The Houston Chronicle of abusers who were public school teachers. The photos were passport sized with a short bio. There were so many. The paper at that time was a real broad sheet. The accompanying story took 2 more pages.

These abusers were often given the choice of quietly resigning and given a good recommendation so they could abuse children at another school.

I am not arguing that the Catholic Church is not at fault. I just want people to not become complacent with simplistic answers as to how and why this is happening.

I have a granddaughter who was groomed and abused by her best friend's father.

organizations of many stripes acting to protect themselves, as opposed to the victims. Thank you for posting.
