She may just not come here very often anymore. Many don't. She has had some life challenges of late that she is trying to work through, according to her FB posts.

I remember reading they were getting active over on FB and some seemed unhappy with the new format. For a while, too, we were showing up in the more public areas so attracting negative attention over here. The admins were either able to hide us or somehow things settled down because it seems pretty rare that "alien" people stumble into here to mock us these days. Excepting our personal troll, of course

"New Agey types" are like all people. It's just that in this forum, we try really hard not to offend others. That's for GD

Don't really get what you're saying there, pal...

What I meant is that I hold you guys up to a higher standard than GD. If someone claims to walk the spiritual path (which not all do), then there are basic things I expect not to read here. Name-calling, mocking, exclusionary behavior (cliquey mean girls sorta stuff) and threads designed just to dump on someone (like the Mittens stuff).

I suspect our personal troll is cause for a fair amount of levity to them, as they don't seem to get that kind of attention.

I only know on FB of "Facebook Underground" and it is additionally the home for many that were purged from DU2 way back when. I'd read some went to Liberty Tree, but I thought that was primarily a bastion of conservatives, so I don't know if any truly went there.

The original rules of the forum required respect and provided for a safe place to discuss theories outside your standard black and white box we are so conditioned to having to live in. While not everyone believed in the same things discussed, it was something everyone tried to respect and not attack others for things they didn't agree with. It went downhill very quickly when one of its members was banned for a conversation in another forum on chemtrails. That's about the same time that many non-ASAHers came to this forum and began harassing and demeaning us, all within their new authority under the new rules. The quaintness and safety of the forum felt completely compromised, and that's when many left.

It would be safe for some of those who did not like being ridiculed. (Who does)? I hope a few of them come back. I like to read everyone's insights.

I was talking more about the fact that we have a group troll that has latched onto us for some reason, and those other groups (AA and Septics) don't seem to attract that kind of attention. They may get the odd existing DUer invading from time to time, but they don't have trolls (like ours) popping up constantly.

Like muriel said, things have calmed down here considerably and I'd love to see those that left come back. FB has some good points about it, but it still isn't a message board format, a much better format for holding long-winded and long-running conversations

the chemtrails incident and all...

I just remember people expressing reservations about the new format and knowing that we were showing up in latest threads. And I remember people coming here from the rest of DU and giving us a hard time over our "woo."

..and thanks for thinking of me, murielm99.

I left off posting at DU in a consistent way when I Have A Dream and several others departed. I'm all on Facebook now. I check in here from time to time, mostly because this is where Rick posts most of his information and I love reading his stuff I didn't mean to be rude; I just turned my attention to other things somewhat.

My finances are...somewhat better, although I had a scary episode this fall.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Namaste
