Every single speaker has been invoking "god" at every turn.

And this is the fucking RELIGION forum. This is where this topic gets discussed. If I wanted to stir up shit, I would have posted in GD.

What the fuck.

This is the RELIGION forum. This is where we talk about RELIGIOUS issues, and public officials invoking god is one of them. Telling me to shut up about it? What was that you just said about free expression? Fuck me, the hypocrisy is stupefying.

become a truism in a large part of society. I live in a conservative and religious area and people at work knew I was a liberal and when I first talked about God and the Bible jaws dropped, heads turned and ' What did he say, he's a Christian, really hard to believe that' was the most heard reaction. Sad thing is they are more accepting of me as Christian and a liberal than many here are in accepting me as liberal and a Christian.

You believe it's OK for GLBTers to be outraged at anti-GLBT sentiments at the DNC, but nonbelievers need to just STFU at what they find offensive.

And you'll personally insult them to make sure you drive the point home that they are second class citizens - not to mention your poorly constructed straw men.

Feel free to get the last word in so that I as a non-believer can be sure to know where I stand with you, too.

Shame on you for trying to make such an equivalency and shame on you for your ugly insinuation. You are no humanist!

Ahh yes.... the sound of it. That's about it, because that particular arrangement of syllables is so overused and such a cliche that is practically means nothing. Politicians say it whether they mean it or not. Citizens too.

You, on the other hand, have decided, based on nothing but your own prejudices, that religion is incompatible with reality. Your mind is obviously made up, so having a discussion with you about religion would be weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable.
