He is not a "pastor" because he behaves or opines disagreeably. That is falling into the apologetist's trap of taking it as axiomatic that committed Christians are better than the rest of us. He's a straight no scare quotes legitimate and real pastor. It's his real job, his real title and his real role.

I didn't make the picture. I just thought it had a good point through the use of juxtaposition. I also thought it would be approrpriate here in light of the discussions that have taken place recently regarding these two individuals.

BTW: To be honest, I didn't even see the scare quotes the first time I looked at it. I'm glad you said something, because I do agree that such scare quotes are bullshit.

Dan Savage, like me and many others, despise bullies.
