(2,884 posts)The average is that of readers, and it's a religious website.

(17,803 posts)Missed Maimonides. I honestly know nothing about him. I plan to learn.

(14,733 posts)I misread the 'salvation through faith alone' one, and I had no clue who Jonathan Edwards was.
But since I'm an atheist, I guess I'm not smarter than an atheist.

(32,464 posts)the faith alone thing was something I heard from fundies, so I guess it depends on the church.
Erich Bloodaxe BSN
(14,733 posts)'through faith alone' is different than 'through Jesus Christ alone', and I was being overly generous when I equated the two. Still fuzzy on that one.

(40,416 posts)I should have known that Protestants were the ones who advocate faith above acts.
Who are Jonathan Edwards?
Who is Maimonides?
I need to read more.

(116,866 posts)I wouldn't have known about the Great Awakening, except it was discussed in a class I took many decades ago

(57,349 posts)Not bad for a heathen who was raised without religion.
Faith alone and the Great Awakening tripped me up.
But I learned something so it's all good.

(3,747 posts)Pretty good given I know very little about religion, because I can't bring myself to give enough of a crap about the minute differnces between any of them.
Trying to read the bible and it's hell. Why do people like this? It's awful by almost any metric I can think of. I need the skeptics version to keep me sane.

(57,349 posts)Of course the religionists don't agree, they think you need to be a biblical scholar to understand the bible and religion.
See PZ Myers' The Courtier's Reply for more on that.

(57,349 posts)I know much more about religion than my s/o and his brothers, he's a lapsed Catholic and they're right wing Christians.
The holidays are always a real blast since they found out I'm an atheist.
BlueJazz
(25,348 posts)Yeah, I get that also. Somebody usually says "Just look at this beautiful day. How can you possibly think there is not a god?"
I just bite my tongue and think to myself...Don't-go-there.

And many other wonderful Jewish dishes, my mom was a fantastic cook. She even made bagels from scratch. Now I don't believe in heaven but if it did exist they would serve fresh hot bagels out of the oven.

(33,982 posts)'by faith alone, catholics/protestants' caught me out. Thought it was a trick question.
Had to take it twice though. Their click-bait adserver bullshit vapor locked on page 28 the first time through.

(5,764 posts)...they don't even list the correct answer for question 7, which was expected. But as a plus they at least recognized they didn't and provided what the correct answer was in the explanation after you chose the wrong answer they were obviously expecting most people to choose as the "correct" one.
The rest were easy, 100% for this atheist...
