Now I'm really confused. Who's who in the World Government movement?

Got a flier at my front door from the local Jehovah's Witnesses group.

A World Government

Why do we need one?

Is it possible?

Who is qualified to rule?

...invented by splinter groups such as Jehovah's Witnesses and various anti-government militia groups.

Not the JW's paranoid fantasies though:

Campaign for a United Nations Parliamentary assembly:

http://www.unpacampaign.org/

World Parliament:

http://worldparliament-gov.org/

Etc.

Most of these are what you would label as "fringe" groups due to being so small, but for some of them, their proposals are at least reasonable.

ON EDIT: Also, I will say that, while I'm too poor to lend much support to the idea of a World Government, I'm not personally opposed to the idea. I think of myself as a human first, and on the list of adjectives I would use, American may barely crack the top 10 list. I'm more likely to label the city I'm from over my nationality. Not to mention I find patriotism and nationalism to be alien concepts that are, frankly, scary.
