Adam Cramer, a bike builder from Philadelphia asks....

"Who's the next me?"

It seems he wonders, as I do, where is the next generation of craftsmen coming from? Who among the mass of Gen-Xbox kids will pick up the mantle and learn such vocations as welding, mechanics, and fabricating needed to restore and maintain classic machines? Do they even care?

It seems few young people these days are even interested in the workings of their cars and bikes beyond the wash bucket and payment book:

1. Highly recommend the book "Shop class as soulcraft".

I'm happy that my middle son has decided to be a mechanic.
