Hummingbird Nestlings
A Broad-billed hummingbird built a nest on a plant in my patio. Here is a video of her feeding her nestlings:

Although I keep thinking that long beak is going to come out the little ones tail feathers!

5. Since the nest
was in my patio she got used to me coming and going. So I set up my HD video camera on a tripod and turned it on for a couple hours. After that I just selected the best clips for a short video.

2. Very cool. They never sit still longer than a zillion the of a second.
This reminds me of feeding geese to fatten up their livers for future patè.

3. That's hilarious how the babies instinctively know to stick their butts out of the nest to poop!
I guess that explains why bird nests aren't filled with bird poop.
Human babies definitely don't have this instinct. ![]() |
