great day for a pedal. where are you riding today?

I'll be taking the Trance X for a ride up Sycamore Cyn to Goodan Ranch this afternoon; about 14 miles of truck trail and single track in East San Diego County. What about you?

It's been gorgeous the last few days in Seattle, but sadly, I left my mountain bike in Tucson and my racing bike has a cracked fork I just found out. It's a Greg LeMond, the company is out of business and finding a replacement fork is apparently difficult.

I'm bummed.

i admittedly know very little about road bikes. is an after market fork not an option?

I'm just going by what the bike shop is telling me, as I'm rather non-mechanical myself. How different can one fork be be from another? It's a forked up situation at the moment.

again, i'm a dirt guy, so i really can't speak to any authority on the subject, but if you can find a fork that matches the rake of your current frameset, you should be set. there's a lot of carbon aftermarket out there, and you can probably find a steel or aluminum replacement as well. best of luck!

You will have a lot to choose from for a road bike. Carbon-fiber forks have come down in price, so if you are performance-oriented, you would probably buy carbon-fiber for light weight.

It's about 2 miles from my house, The Silver Comet Trail is a a 62 mile Rail/Trail that goes from just north of Atlanta to the Alabama boarder, it's a pretty nice ride.

Also, it connects to another 33 miles of trail in Alabama, but I haven't ridden all of the Georgia part yet.
