LSU was fined $100,000 on Monday by the Southeastern Conference for fans rushing the field after Saturday's win over then-No. 2 Georgia, according to a news release from the conference.
This was LSU's second violation under the current policy, which bans fans from entering the competition area.
LSU last stormed the field in football when the Tigers beat Ole Miss 10-7 in 2014.
A third violation, and subsequent violations, would cost the school $250,000.

(1,907 posts)the grass. So he reminded me that yrs ago when he and a friend were working at LSU, they were redoing the grass. Pulling up the old and replacing it. And the people who dug up the old grass gave my husband and his friend a plot of LSU grass, a piece of Tiger Stadium, and we planted it in our backyard. Memories! We no longer live there and whoever lives in our old house doesn't realize their yard has a slice of the stadium. Apparently, the fine is for the cost of fixing the grass.

I read that the band won't play the song during the game anymore, but it's still a part of the post-game celebration. I'm surprised that the NCAA isn't imposing penalties each time the band plays the song.
