Just as it went into extras, our cable went out!!!

Had to check the score this morning. It's practically impossible to find a radio broadcast of a postseason baseball game any more. We tried.....

I'm cable challenged and listen to most of my teams game on an AM transistor radio. I fully expected to listen to this game on the same station because they've broadcast post season National league games in the past. No dice this year.

Oh, I grew up listening to ballgames on the radio and love it, but I discovered online box scores that adds a level of texture to my listening pleasure. If but and for nothing else, you can follow the game, pitch by pitch here: https://www.mlb.com/scores

Wouldn't have helped me last night, since our cable and internet are bundled and both were out. But I'll keep this in mind for future reference!

When the game is going, and the actually box score thing opens, there is all sorts of information and stats that can be accessed

There was just something about them this year that i had no high hopes.

They won 94 games but they just didn't seem like they were really that good.

When the pressure cooker got buttoned up, they didn't have the consistency to keep from getting cooked.

They need somebody who gets on base and isn't worried about home runs.

On Edit: Until he got hurt, Bryant was leading the majors in OPS. But, he never got back into rhythm when he returned. But, he's the only one, i think.

When they actually did win the WS, i thought they were the clear favorite.

This year, the Darvish thing not working out, the spotty relief pitching, too many men left on base with everyone swinging for the fences. . .

I was just surprised when they actually still won 94 games. And yet, given the way the Brewers played coming down the stretch, i knew the Cubs were going nowhere this year.

I remember many conversations back then where we said, "Seriously, have you actually seen the Dodgers lose a game this year?"
