Did I see the Bill Walsh 49ers win a game?

Kyle Shanahan, Jimmy Garoppola and company did their best to channel the 1980's 49ers in pulling off an upset win over the Tennessee Titans with a game winning drive and field goal as time expired. Garoppola became the first 49er QB to throw for 300 yards or more in two consecutive games since Jeff Garcia did it in 2000.

The offense looks totally different from just a few months ago -- lots of mis-direction, play action, better downfield blocks and routes, and some smart use of the fullback and tight end positions. All hallmarks of Walsh's West Coast offense.

Kudos to GM John Lynch and Shanahan and the coaching staff. They turned it around.

Wow!

The 49ers bought a Bill Bellichick educated quarterback and suddenly their offense becomes more complex and successful because the old coaching staff was out of nowhere stricken with a new brilliance???

but some can get the hang of it after a few weeks. Garappolo wasn't just reading the playbook but also practicing it with the rest of the team for weeks, and I further suspect Shanahan added more complex plays to exploit the experience of a veteran QB.

I'm telling you the entire offense looks more alive. Garappola has good pocket presence. The receivers are running better routes. The fullback, running back and tight end have bigger roles in the passing game. Never thought I'd say this but the 49er offense is fun to watch again.

I agree with Garappoalo but I was referring to everyone involved. Hang of it is about right.
