A group of fans who believe Colin Kaepernick is being blackballed by the NFL have launched a petition threatening to boycott the league if he isn't signed to a roster this season.
The Change.org petition, titled #NoKaepernickNoNFL, has received more than 31,000 signatures as of Saturday afternoon.
"We understand (the) NFL is very important to you. We also understand the purpose of Colin Kaepernick's protest is FAR more important than any games you will ever watch," the petition reads. "Simply put, if things stay the same for the way America - where 'all men are created equal' - treats people of color, then your loved ones, friends, and children will eventually be affected as well."
In addition to not watching any NFL games, the petition also asks supporters to avoid making social media comments about their favorite teams and not to purchase merchandise that represents the league or its teams until Kaepernick is signed.

(56,177 posts)Wonder if the people behind this petition ever watched a football game; besides, he's said he won't protest this coming year...what do they think about that?

(6,373 posts)First, he's not a very good quarterback. He doesn't turn the ball over much, but he had 16 passing touchdowns in 11 games last season. That's not enough to be considered a quality quarterback.
And as much as I hate to say it, he's a distraction. He's brave for voicing his opinions, but NFL teams like organizations to be quiet and out of the news.

(36,383 posts)That kneeling shit is just a distraction from the fact the Kaepernick is damaged goods, and EVERY NFL team knows it.

(29,322 posts)only for the owner to nix the deal. The Ravens were one of those teams.
I think John Skelton is a more of a head case which is why you don't see him in the nFL anymore plus playing quarterback isn't easy.

(29,322 posts)but the Ravens weren't the first team only for the owner to block the move. His resume his good enough to earn a backup or 3rd string role it isn't like this has anything to do with his ability. I can find QBs with a much worse resume with a job.

(17,255 posts)it's interesting to note that Kapernick actually has the higher QB rating in his career. This seems to be a case of Adam Gase believing that Cutler is the better fit in his offensive system, but Kap's notoriety for his political activism could certainly be a liability in the eyes of some decision-makers. Hard to know for sure.
