The Knicks seem to be building something

It's amazing to watch this Knicks team get pieced together. The team has gone through a bunch of changes over the last couple of weeks. Tyson Chandler was brought in before the season. Knicks fans were starting to feel good because of Chandler, but the team ended up way under .500. Stoudemire went out with a personal tragedy. Carmelo went out with an injury. Lin came in and Jared Jeffries started getting minutes. Lin lit up the entire team, especially Chandler. It's amazing to watch. Now Stoudemire is back. J.R. Smith got picked up. Carmelo should be back this week. And Baron Davis will be back soon. Jeffries gives them good size and defense. Don't forget Landry Fields. And a guy named Steve Novak comes off the bench and makes shots.

This is a very difficult NBA season because there are few nights off. I don't think any teams have three nights in a row off. There's lots of back to back games. The Knicks are suddenly deep. I think it's going to work to their advantage in the second half of the season. As other teams tire out, the Knicks should stay in decent shape. I'm not saying they're going to win it all, but they look dangerous. They've put together a team full of shooters with skill on the bench. And unlike most D'antoni teams, they are playing some defense (thanks to Chandler, Jeffries, and Lin). I can't wait to see how this all plays out.

It's great to have something to cheer for with the Knicks. Isiah Thomas did his best to ruin this team for a long time. I think we're finally starting to get past that.

I caught a few games at the old Boston Garden. Dave D., Willis Reed, Bill Bradley, Walt Frazier...and my favorite, Earl "the pearl" Monroe. What a great backcourt duo they made! This new team looks pretty exciting....the Lin phenomenon is great for NY basketball.
