(1,607 posts)....does he go to Pimlico to challenge Always Dreaming? Nice job picking out Lookin At Lee, King.

(38,444 posts)Tried his damnest to get through in his last race.
The Preakness will have a shorter field so it sets up for a great race. A lot of horses had excuses today, especially the non mudders.

(15,220 posts)My pick but he had me worried there for a while. Always glad when both horses and riders return to the paddock healthy. Can't wait for the Preakness.

(1,607 posts)....I'll be honest and tell you I discounted his chances in the week leading up to the race. I thought he was too keyed up and expending all his energy fighting his exercise rider. And to show you how much I know, I thought Thunder Snow had settled in well and would calmly run his race and get a piece of the prize. That is Racing. It'll keep you humble.
On to the next jewel. How do you like his chances at Pimlico, Hamsterjill?

(15,220 posts)I'd say his chances are good for the Preakness, depending on newcomers into the gates, etc., but one never knows.
I don't see him lasting the distance for the Belmont.
Was Thunder Snow all right? All I ever saw was a preliminary report that said there was nothing evident with him. I was hoping, of course, that was the final outcome.

(1,607 posts)....he got bumped at the break. No idea why he lost his cool like that but his sire was kind of a character also.
McCraken has a puncture wound to his left hind leg and out of the rest of the TC. Irish War Cry is out pointing for the Haskell and Classic Empire has superficial cuts on his legs and swollen right eye and is a maybe for the Preakness.

(1,607 posts)....in the Preakness. Hence, Classic Empire and Gunnevera are heading to Pimlico. Gunnevera gets a new jockey: Mike Smith.
