NFL has the Pats.
CFB has the Tide.
NBA has the Warriors.
MLB has the Cubs.
Women's College Basketball has the UConn Huskies.
That leaves Men's College Basketball where things appear to be wide open and anybody can win. Despite drafts, salary caps, scholarship limits, etc., these teams seem to be in the mix for championships season after season. Why is this? What makes these teams so special? Why don't other organizations duplicate what they're doing?

(98 posts)The Patriots are the only dynasty in pro sports. The Cubs won a single World Series in over a hundred years, Golden State lost last year. If anything, the team that has LeBron is the closet to dynastic. He's been in the last seven finals. The Blackhawks have won three out of the last six Stanley Cups, pretty good but not a dynasty.
The only super team are the Patriots.

(35,357 posts)I put the Cubs on there because of how dominant they were in the regular season and how young they are. They're more of a potential super team.
The Warriors are on the list because of the number of games they win in the regular season and their post-season success all before Durant. With him, and no other team may see a trophy for the next 5 years or so.

(35,357 posts)They have a 62% cumulative winning percentage over the past two seasons with a World Series win.

(16,113 posts)They could be one moving forward, but teams can implode quickly in MLB.

As a Cubs fan, my concern is pitching health, because they were VERY healthy the last 2 seasons. Maybe that's overstated concern, but pitchers getting hurt in MLB sure isn't uncommon.
