So, Michigan goes into OSU building, loses by FG in overtime, and two teams jump ahead of them. But, MI was #3 and OSU was #2. So, the #3 team loses by essentially the smallest possible margin in an overtime game and that makes two other teams better than them.

I think this is why the system is begging for 8 teams, and they could play one less meaningless against Joe's Barber College earlier in the season.
