Was there a reverse "Bartman" tonight in KC?

I was driving home from work and the radio said that a fan caused a double to be a home run for the Royals.

I haven't seen the videos yet.

I just hope the Royals win by more than one run.

If you've never heard the name Jeffrey Maier before and you're not familiar with his story, chances are you will be before this weekend is over.

Maier became famous — or infamous — for reaching over the wall at the old Yankee Stadium to catch Derek Jeter's fly ball during Game 1 of the 1996 ALCS. Maier essentially yanked the ball away from Orioles right fielder Tony Tarasco and pulled it into the stands, giving Jeter a home run. Despite clear evidence of fan interfence, it remained a home run and still to this day remains one of the most controversial moments in postseason history.

So much for that theory. On the other hand, Les Geais Bleu tied it on a two-run homer that cleared the fence microseconds before the rain came and delayed the damn thing. Does no one on the Royals know how to fake a broken shoelace?!

...the young fan with the fake beard reached over the fence to catch the ball and then lied to everybody. However, we're not going to be anal and fret over this injustice. The fix was in.

We should focus on the criminality of the 'on field' umpires before we get to the ones in NewYawkCity doing the video replays.
