WARNING GRAPHIC VIDEO: Tony Stewart MAY have murdered someone!
http://espn.go.com/racing/nascar/cup/story/_/id/11333895/tony-stewart-hits-foot-competitor-sprint-car-race-new-york-state
Unconfirmed reports indicate a 20-year old driver may have expired during the proceedings. News conference should be coming soon. We'll wait on more concrete details, but this doesn't look good for NASCAR or driver Tony Stewart. I've said the same thing about baseball as I do NASCAR. When dealing with deadly weapons, combatants shouldn't be so cavalier in these types of confrontations. I'm not sure why NASCAR drivers seem to get so physical when dealing with conflict, and in this case Stewart may have even intentionally murdered a rival. 1. Wouldn't have been surprising if a NASCAR driver had pulled out a gun and SHOT someone? WTF?
Having said that, Stewart's career should be over, and he should go to prison.

2. What....
Pretty much everyone who saw it including drivers say that it was an accident.

3. What do you mean everyone who was there said it was an accident? Please
Tyler Graves, a sprint-car racer and friend of Ward's, told Sporting News in a phone interview that he was sitting in the Turn 1 grandstands and saw everything that happened.
"Tony pinched him into the frontstretch wall, a racing thing," Graves said. "The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down. Kevin got out of his car. … He was throwing his arms up all over the place at Tony for most of the corner. "I know Tony could see him. I know how you can see out of these cars. When Tony got close to him, he hit the throttle. When you hit a throttle on a sprint car, the car sets sideways. It set sideways, the right rear tire hit Kevin, Kevin was sucked underneath and was stuck under it for a second or two and then it threw him about 50 yards." http://deadspin.com/reports-tony-stewart-ran-over-opposing-driver-during-1618893708 |

4. Did you watch the video...
Ward got out of his car and walked into the middle of the track---shit...he almost got hit before Stewart hit him.

5. If the late Mister Macho McBadAss had utilized a little anger management
Last edited Thu Sep 23, 2021, 01:11 PM - Edit history (4) by staying in his car, he and Stewart might have been able to settle things over a beer.

6. Ridiculous
You're seeing what you want to see.
I'm no Tony Stewart fan. I couldn't care less if he wins, loses or even is in a race. I'm not even that big a racing fan. But, a driver who gets out of a car and MOVES TOWARD THE CENTER OF THE TRACK is a much bigger macho badass problem in racing than even Tony Stewart. You see what you want to see. I'll stick with the obvious, which is on video from two different angles. And btw: Ward's friend who said Stewart accelerated is making that up. Even your video makes that clear. |

7. Uh... you need to reread Rocktivity's post.
And I see in the video that Stewart gunned it while Ward was tangled up.
Whatever, Philip Povero, sheriff of Ontario County, New York, told reporters, "At this very moment, there are no facts in hand that would substantiate or support a criminal charge, or indicate criminal intent on the part of any individual." |
