Cleveland sweeps Detroit with a walk-off balk in the 13th inning

In a game that saw just about everything, Detroit's Al Alburquerque balked-in the winning run with the bases loaded in the 13th inning Wednesday at Cleveland's Progressive field. It was Cleveland's third straight victory against the Tigers.

Score: 11-10

Detroit starter Matt Scherzer pitched 7 innings despite giving up 7 runs.

Cleveland starter Zach McAlister was knocked out of the game after 2 innings.

Miguel Cabrera and Detroit manager Brad Ausmus were ejected for arguing a check-swing strike in the 6th.

With the Cleveland bullpen depleted, starter Mike Tomlin got the win.

Cleveland came from behind to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th inning, 9-9, then scored two runs in the bottom of the 13th after Detroit had taken the lead on one run.

Crazy game.

And I believe the Tribe just got swept themselves. By Oakland. Preview of an A's-Tigs ALCS?

because that sweep by Oakland was UGLY. Francona pulled out all the stops to win the last game and sweep the hottest team in baseball. Smart, shrewd manager -- Francona knew the team needed to re-gain its mojo.

Hope the A's stay healthy because this proves Detroit can be taken down.
