If you read only one comic storyline, it has to be Batman: Court of Owls.

I just finished Court of Owls and was blown away. It makes up the first 8 issues of Batman beginning in 2011 and crosses over in a few other titles (although you can just stick to the core issues). It's been decades since a comic story kept me glued to the pages and on the edge of my seat. I hope, I hope and I hope that this will be the story in the solo Batman film scheduled for release in a few years under the DCRU. WOW!!!

Batman #5 stood out especially for the creative way they laid out the art so that you had to keep twisting the book around, mirroring Batman's disoriented state in the labyrinth.

The crossover issues were also solid, but I was in serious Batnerd form when they came out, so I was predisposed to like the lot. The Talons are great villains, and they may end up being a plot element in the Gotham tv series.

I may end up pulling the whole shebang out this weekend for a re-read.
