Anyone have recommendations for a good biography of Putin?
One covering his KGB/FSB days and his nationalist/expansionist ambitions?

4. I saw Masha Gessen on Rachel Maddow once, she was amazing!
This is the book she wrote about Putin:

5. Yes, she IS good!
I am waiting for the biography on Putin where the last chapter is about his sudden and permanent disappearance from the face of the earth. I'd like to see that fly off the bookshelves in the very near future.

11. Yeah, not much is known about him.
The Man Without a Face by Masha Gessen is the one that my Russian history teacher recommended to me.

13. It's hard to know a person if they control the narrative.
He does control the narrative, everything put out there is basically what he chose to put out there. His KBG days are something people will continue to puzzle over probably for all of history, unless documents come to light somehow.
