The word barrio does not mean ghetto, but rather, neighborhood

En El Barrio De Ayer = In The Neighborhood Of Yesterday

. . . . I'm using my writer's license, and EN EL BARRIO DE AYER was the title, while " (Life In the Ghetto)" was a subtitle for the reader.

I knew someone would try to translate my title literally instead of simply accepting it for what it was.

Thanks for your observation and comment, however. Appreciated.
