Open meeting about allowing hens in town to take place in May

Went to the town meeting earlier and there will be another later this month where one item on the agenda will be to set the time and date for the open meeting.

It's taking awhile but things look good. Unlike in nearby communities where the issue of allowing hens was shot down in flames by a majority of residents of those communities.

Went to the Township Planning Commission meeting a week ago and there they set the date for the open meeting

It looks good as the head of the planning commission said that as far as he's concerned, having chickens in town is a non-issue but they have to follow the process.

Interestingly, a member of the commission at the meeting was a member of same back in 1971 when they first zoned the township and prohibited the keeping of animals considered to be livestock or traditional farm animals in the areas zoned as residential.
