Jihadist group denies Syria bombings

(CNN) -- Amid growing concerns of third-party militant groups leaving deadly marks in the Syrian crisis, the jihadist Al Nusra Front has denied a claim that it was responsible for dual suicide bombings that killed 55 and wounded hundreds in the Syrian capital last week.

A video purportedly from Al Nusra Front released Saturday said that government buildings in Damascus were targeted "because the regime continues to shell residential civilians."

But a statement this week from Al Nusra Front said the video "is full of fabrications."

"We never received any confirmation, acknowledgment or denial from our military sector in the front," the group said.

The place where the bombs went off was a highly secure area, and the opposition do not have the capabilities to make such a huge bomb (the second). Also, I read something that has not been confirmed yet, that a medical person put two and two together about bodies that had been kept refrigerated and were moved just before the bombing. However, that is just hearsay for now.
