At the state level, Democrats still control the Legislature and Jay Inslee will be the next governor.

On Saturday, a retired man wondered aloud, “How could anyone who owns guns vote for people who have repeatedly tried to restrict gun rights?”

After a day at the Washington Arms Collectors gun show, one might ask, “How, indeed?”

So this column has a reasonable question for gun owners who voted for Mssrs. Obama and Inslee, Sen. Maria Cantwell and other anti-gun Democrats. What is it about these folks other than the “D” behind their name that earned your vote?
