A question in the form of a cartoon (via Amendment II Democrats)

Since I don't personally buy into the Large Magazine Scare/moral panic- I'd go with either "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" (the magazine enables spree killings) or plain old animism (the 'big' magazines
somehow impel people to go haywire).

the government having to show need to restrict rather than someone having to show need to have.
private individuals have no need for ATVs and wave runners either.

or civil right/liberty, would you say that the primary onus is on

  1. the state to demonstrate a need for the ban, or

  2. the people to demonstrate a need for the item in question?
It's about guns this time, but I think that's a pretty fundamental question in any discussion about rights and public policy...

Sadly, they've elected to avoid involvement on the specific question...

I rather doubt it- the VT and Luby's massacres both had more dead than in Tuscon, and both shooters in those cases used

"O'Donnell Approved" magazines. We need to try and avoid 'solutions' that are simple, obvious- and wrong.

The second amendment is NOT about hunting, it's about preventing me from being hunted.
